To run programs containing old OEM cycles, create an OEM cycle without soft-key file and define the Q parameters that it contains (see online help: "Old OEM Cycles").
To save EPROM space in the TNC 310 and TNC 410, use the "Options/Compress NC File" function.
To protect the cycles that you have created, you can encode its NC program. Use the "Options/Convert NC program" function (only available for TNC 426/TNC 430).
CycleDesign now supports the selection of control models. This ensures that CycleDesign always offers the set of HEIDENHAIN cycles and parameters that is supported by your control model.
In the soft-key tree you can mark more than one entry. Click on the first desired entry, press and hold the shift key, and then click on the last entry. You can also mark and unmark individual entries by pressing and holding the Ctrl key, and then clicking on them.
You can use the capability of the latest software versions to define parallel OEM soft-key trees. Then you will not need to adapt your OEM cycle project for every software update to offer the latest HEIDENHAIN standard cycles.
The "Application" tab of the parameter dialog box lists all cycles that use this parameter.
The horizontal separating lines in a soft-key tree show the borders between soft-key rows in a soft-key menu.
Under the "File" menu item, CycleDesign shows the last four projects that you have saved. By clicking on one of the four file names you can open the corresponding project.
You can use the same Q parameter as often as desired with different names, provided that you do not mix them in the same cycle. Simply use different names in the "Edit Parameters" dialog box under the "General" tab in the "Designation" entry box.
In the "Edit Parameter" dialog box, in the "Values" tab and under "Range" you can specify the number of possible decimal places for a cycle parameter by defining an input range with the number of decimal places that can be entered.
You can enlarge the "Cycle Parameters" selection box by clicking on a corner of the field, holding the mouse key, and pulling the box to the desired size.
If you place the mouse pointer on a button in the toolbar, after a short time a brief description of its function will appear.
You can start a second copy of CycleDesign to copy cycles or parameters back and forth between projects.
When inserting parameters in your cycle you can take several parameters from the list at the same time. Press and hold the Ctrl key in the "Insert Parameter" window, click on the desired parameters, and then click on the OK button.
If you have connected your TNC 426 / TNC 430 to the network with an Ethernet board, you can also send your project via Ethernet to the TNC (possible only as of NC software 280 476-xx).
With the "Transfer/Installation Disk" function you can make a backup on a floppy disk containing all the files needed for setting up your project on the TNC.
Start the CycleDesign Demo to get an overview of CycleDesign features and operation.
CycleDesign provides wizards to help you create OEM cycles. The wizard guides you through the process of entering all required data.
